A REFRESHING HIDEAWAY
Pool Doctors has recently completed a series of projects that have transformed ordinary outdoor spaces into refreshing hideaways and modernized landscapes. We invite you to read more about these projects and discover how Pool Doctors can help you turn your outdoor space into a paradise.
The Vision
These new Burlington homeowners had purchased a house with an existing pool that was over 20 years old. They wanted to renovate and update the original pool to align with their outdoor lifestyle — and they wanted it done quickly. Fortunately, Pool Doctors was able to start on the design before they had possession of the house.
Their wishlist was substantial. The pool needed to be enlarged, with new steps, a Baja shelf for their young children and dog to enjoy, and a built-in year-round hot tub. They also hoped to modernize the rest of the landscape by building a covered lounging area with a TV, a fire feature and sauna for colder evenings, and lots of grass for the kids to enjoy in warmer weather
The Challenges
Because the original pool was older, the entire pool needed to be re-plumbed, including a new recirculating kit, independent plumbing, and a new automation system equipment setup. While we updated the plumbing, we also added LED lights and colored water sheers.
We then extended the length of the pool, adding the Baja shelf, a four-season spa, and a vanishing edge. To accommodate the spa and Baja shelf, we increased the existing pool’s footprint in the shallow end.
The Results
These customers were thrilled with the results.
Waterproof vinyl decking was used on the Baja shelf to allow the proper gripping needed for chairs and toys and increased safety for dogs and children and toys — without ripping.
We used a dark textured liner on the Baja shelf so that the shallow depth was visible for safety reasons as well as aesthetics. All of the steps in the pool and spa were padded and textured for extra comfort. The waterfall flows into the Baja area, which gives the children a fun space to play around in knee-deep water.
This backyard was refreshed on time and on budget — and now these homeowners can relax all year long.
